New Handmade Walking Sticks by John Rennie available for 2020

1 Comment21 February 2020  |  Admin

Back in 2015 we started stocking a range of shepherd's crooks made by prizewinning stickmaker, John Rennie, at The Stick & Cane Shop. This small range proved to be extremely popular with our customers the world over, so we started to sell more crooks from other prizewinning craftsmen from around West Lothian to keep up with demand. They have travelled as far afield as Canada and Australia, and we have regular customers who return each year to purchase these gorgeous unique sticks.

For 2020, we are happy to say that we have been able to stock up with some more crooks, made by the original man himself, John Rennie. We are certain that you will love John's creative style in each of these one-of-a-kind sticks.

John Rennie, from Torphichen, West Lothian, Scotland, has won several awards at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh over the years (see photograph above). He has spent nearly three decades developing his traditional stickmaking technique in his home workshop, and this dedication can be seen in his attention to detail and wonderful stickmaking talent in each unique piece that he creates.

Handmade crooks make a wonderful gift idea for those milestones in life. We've had people purchase them for anniversaries, birthdays and graduations. We've also had farmers from the Lake District and Scottish Highlands purchase them due to their excellent quality. Please note though, that these sticks do tend to sell fast, so it's best to buy soon if you want one.  These are unique pieces, so we will not have the exact same type in stock again. Why not view the selection we have highlighted in this blog today, but if you'd like to see our full range, please visit our Handmade Crooks & Handmade Walking Sticks pages.

Do you have a sales outlet in Edinburgh? On an upcoming trip to Scotland I would like to purchase a handmade crook and am interested in what selection, if any, you have by John Rennie. A response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
