Staghorn Country Sticks for Autumn

In this week's blog we have gone back to nature with a look at one of our ranges of Country Sticks. Our country sticks feature a wide range of different styles of sticks, made from naturally sourced materials crafted to make beautiful walking canes. Our focus this week is on our stunning Staghorn Handled Sticks.

Using sustainably sourced raw materials such as wood and the horns of stags that have been shed, our Staghorn Handled Sticks are hand-crafted to beautiful effect, marrying beautifully crafted wooden shafts with handles made from stag horn that has been cleaned and polished to provide a comfortable handle and, ultimately, a memorable walking experience.

So if you are a countryside rambler, hillwalker, or simply enjoy weekend walks with the dog, these canes make an excellent companion on those days out. They provide excellent stability and comfortable grip. These Staghorn Handled Sticks also make ideal presents for special occasions such as retirement gifts, as well as superb birthday and Christmas gifts.

Let us provide a little inspiration this week as we browse through a selection of these canes below, but if you'd like to see our full range, you can see all of our Staghorn Handled Sticks at the following link, or if you'd like to see all of our Country Stick categories, follow the link here.

Hand Carved Staghorn Handle Walking Stick with Fishing Fly Decal

The Staghorn Handle Walking Stick with Fishing Fly Decal is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, featuring a gorgeous hazel shaft and a staghorn crown handle topped with fishing fly embedded in resin decal. This beautiful country walking stick is hand made by John Rennie of Torphicen, a prize winning stick maker of many years standing, who won seven 1st prizes at the Highland Show in 2014. The shaft is made from the traditional country wood, hazel, which is prized for its interesting sheen and colour and is left with its natural bark for that authentic country look.

The staghorn handle is made from stag horn collected by gamekeepers from stags that shed their antlers annually. The horn is ground, sanded and polished before being fitted to a natural wooden shaft. No animals were harmed in the collection of the horn.

The dimensions of the walking stick are:
  • Length is 126cm
