Handmade Elm Burr Handled Shepherd's Crook on a Hazel Shaft
The beautifully handmade shepherd's crook is a one-off, and features a hand carved Elm Burr handle with curl mounted on a delightfully finished Hazel wood shaft. This is a long stick that comes to around upper-abdomen height. The shaft is made from the hardwood, hazel, which is prized for its interesting sheen and colour. The handle is hand carved from elm burr, which is has a beautiful grain, and the hazel shaft is lacquered to a beautiful sheen.
This delightful country walking stick is hand made by a local Scottish craftsman, Jim Fraser. Jim, who comes from Addiewell, has been making sticks for 17 years and has many stick-making accolades to his name. He is a Black Isle Winner, a Reserve champion at the Royal Highland Show and also a category winner for many shows around Scotland. He also came 4th place in the Scottish Champion of Champions at the Yetholm Border Shepherd's Show for his extraordinary sticks. Discover our range of country sticks.

The dimensions of the walking stick are:

~ The stick diameter at the top just under the handle is approx 23mm and tapers down to 20mm at the ferrule end.
~ It is fitted with a RUBBER ferrule.
