Blackthorn Derby Walking Stick

This is a very smart walking stick, the classic contours of the Derby handle allow it to be hung over the wrist when not in use, leaving the hands free. The shaft of the cane is made from blackthorn, with its natural bark and varnished. The handle is made from a grained hardwood, that has been scorched to give a distinctive look.

1. #Dimensions#
   The dimensions of the walking stick are:
   ~ Length is 96cm
   ~ Weight is 380g
   ~ The stick diameter at the top just under the handle is 22mm and tapers down to 18mm at the ferrule end (sizes may vary).
   ~ Will fit an "RFA16" type rubber ferrule size 16mm internal diameter.
2. #Measuring & Shortening#
   We offer a FREE stick shortening service, just enter the length required in the box at checkout. Please note we cannot refund or exchange walking sticks that have been shortened, as these have been personalised for you.
   
   To measure someone for a walking stick, ask them to stand with their weight evenly on both feet, looking straight ahead and with their arms relaxed by their sides. You then need to measure from the floor to the prominent bone of the wrist. This is the length of walking stick required. Please note this is just a rule of thumb. If the person has special needs, they may need to be measured by a medical professional. Alternatively they may have personal preferences for a longer or shorter walking stick.
   
   We measure our sticks from the top curve of the handle, where the palm rests to the bottom of the ferrule. We cut the stick 0.5cm shorter than the length required to allow for the depth of rubber in the ferrule.
3. #Returns#
   We want you to be totally satisfied with every purchase you make from The Stick & Cane Shop. But if you are looking to return an item for exchange or refund, please call or e-mail us first for a returns number, quoting your order reference number so we can find your order quickly. When returning an item. please re-use the original packaging if possible; otherwise please ensure the goods are packaged sufficiently to prevent damage.
   
   Please include a covering or a copy of your packing list, stating your returns number and what your wishes are for an exchange, replacement or refund.
   
   We can only exchange or refund on goods that are returned to us accompanied by a returns number and an order reference number or a transaction number.
   
   Always obtain proof of posting as you can then claim against the Post Office for loss or damage. We cannot refund or exchange goods that arrive back damaged or are lost in the post. Any refund given will be made automatically to your original order payment method (at the current rate of exchange for overseas orders).

4. #Despatch & Delivery#
   We are currently despatching orders received before 12noon on the same day, otherwise they are despatched the following day of receipt of payment. International orders are despatched the next working day from receipt of payment.
   
   Our current prices per consignment for the UK Mainland are shown below but delivery to Scottish Highlands, UK Islands and Northern Ireland will be extra and costs will be shown at checkout:
   
   > Standard Delivery is £3.95 (2 to 5 working days from despatch)
   > Express Delivery is £6.95 (1 to 2 working days from despatch)
   > Next Day Mon to Fri Delivery by 12noon is £9.95 (orders have to be placed by 12noon)
   > Saturday or Sunday delivery is £12.95

5. #VAT Information#
   For orders being delivered within the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and prices are amended at checkout. All product prices are shown inclusive of VAT.
   
   VAT exemption allows chronically sick or disabled people to buy eligible items at 0% VAT to save them money. To qualify the goods have to be manufactured and designed specifically to suit a disabled person. VAT can only be waived on orthopaedic walking sticks designed solely for the use of the disabled. Therefore standard crooks, derby's, folding canes, country sticks, collectors and speciality canes are NOT eligible for VAT relief. We shall be working through our products to start indicating if a product is eligible for VAT relief, until we are finished please give our customer service team a call if you are unsure if the item you want is eligible.
